China Gold International Resources Announces Resumption of Mining Operations at the CSH Mine and Reaffirms Annual Production Guidance

CGG · Price

China Gold International Resources Corp. Ltd. has announced the resumption of open-pit mining operations at its Chang Shan Hao Gold Mine (CSH Mine) following the completion of key remediation works required after a slope instability incident in May 2026. The company reaffirms its annual production guidance for the CSH Mine, citing the continued processing of low-grade ore stockpiles during the suspension period and the implementation of safety risk control measures to maintain stable production.

A localized slope instability incident occurred at the CSH Mine on May 22, 2026. There were no casualties or equipment losses. Open-pit mining was suspended as a safety precaution, while the processing plant continued operating using existing low-grade ore stockpiles. By the end of September 2026, key interim remediation works were completed, including:

  • Restoring the mine road system.
  • Removing loose material and hazardous rock masses.
  • Reinforcing the landslide body.
  • Establishing drainage systems.
  • Continuous slope monitoring.

A third-party professional organization evaluated the effectiveness of the remediation works, confirming that slope geohazards affecting mining operations have been addressed and the mine meets safety standards for normal operations in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. Mining operations resumed as planned in early October 2026, following the completion of filing processes with emergency management authorities.

Operations will optimize the blending of freshly mined ore with stockpiled ore to maintain stable ore delivery volumes and processing grades. China Gold International Resources operates the Chang Shan Hao Gold Mine in Inner Mongolia, China, and the Jiama Copper-Gold Polymetallic Mine in Tibet, China. It is listed on the TSX (CGG) and HKEX (2099).
