Walker River Announces Significant Gold Intercepts Including 2.07 g/t Au over 47.25 Metres at the Lapon Canyon Gold Project
Walker River reports broad 2 g/t Lapon intersections, setting the stage for its maiden resource estimate which will serve as the key test for the project's valuation.

Walker River Resources Corp. (WRR) released additional assay results from its 2026 reverse circulation (RC) drilling program at the Lapon Canyon area of the Lapon Gold Project in Nevada. The update covers 13 holes, designated LC-26-174 through LC-26-186, with seven returning reportable gold intervals while the remaining holes were low-grade, abandoned, or barren.
Key intercepts from the program include:
- LC-26-175: 2.07 g/t Au over 47.25 m from 80.77 m, including 3.07 g/t over 30.48 m from 97.54 m
- LC-26-179: 2.02 g/t Au over 48.77 m from 24.38 m, including 6.61 g/t over 7.62 m from 45.72 m; plus a separate 0.55 g/t over 27.43 m from 103.63 m
- LC-26-180: 1.06 g/t Au over 27.43 m from 21.34 m, including 1.87 g/t over 9.15 m; plus 1.15 g/t over 7.62 m from 111.25 m
- LC-26-182: 1.27 g/t Au over 16.76 m from 67.06 m, including 2.88 g/t over 4.57 m; plus 0.51 g/t over 19.82 m from 24.38 m
- LC-26-183: 3.63 g/t Au over 12.19 m from 74.68 m
- LC-26-185: 1.39 g/t Au over 10.67 m from 50.29 m
- LC-26-186: 1.29 g/t Au over 38.10 m from 24.38 m, including 2.62 g/t over 9.14 m; hole terminated at 64.01 m in mineralization due to ground conditions
Other holes returned lower-grade or insignificant values: LC-26-174 returned 0.39 g/t over 15.24 m above the target zone before being lost early; LC-26-176 returned 0.40 g/t over 44.20 m; LC-26-177 returned 0.35 g/t over 10.67 m; and LC-26-181 returned 0.66 g/t over 28.96 m. Holes LC-26-178 and LC-26-184 were abandoned or showed no significant values.
The company stated that the results help extend the understanding of the mineral system, noting intrusive-hosted (monzonite) gold and elevated copper levels that suggest a possible intrusive-related or monzonite porphyry setting. The data will be used to inform a maiden NI 43-101 resource estimate. Reported widths represent sampled lengths, and true widths have not been established.
Walker River Resources Corp. (WRR) is a pre-resource explorer with no revenue, resource, PEA, metallurgy, or reserves. The company has a market capitalization of roughly C$14.7 million based on 61,442,862 shares at C$0.24. Funding is provided by a US$5 million Nevada Canyon exploration stream earn-in, with US$1,936,491 spent as of the latest MD&A, plus a C$1 million non-brokered placement at C$0.25 in late 2025 with C$0.33 warrants. Cash stood at C$1,671,222 at May 31, 2026, with no debt and a book value of C$0.17 per share.
The latest release adds incremental volume, including seven more reportable holes extending and infilling the broad envelope, one short higher-grade interval, and a truncated hole that leaves the zone open. The new intercepts are:
- LC-26-183: 3.63 g/t over 12.19 m
Broad 1-2 g/t gold intervals from the upper Hotspot roads represent the same result type reported since December 2025. Intrusive-hosted gold in monzonite was previously announced on December 11, 2025, and February 25, 2026. References to "elevated copper" pointing to a porphyry have appeared across three releases without specific copper numbers. This batch upgrades the database feeding the maiden resource but does not change the perceived scale of the system or its odds of becoming economic.
The anchor result is LC-25-170, 85.34 m at 3.79 g/t (approximately 323 g.m), published February 25, 2026, on the same Hotspot target. Following that announcement, the stock rose from about C$0.23-0.24 in early December 2025 to C$0.60 by February 24, 2026. The stock then declined to C$0.27 by March 19, 2026, and closed at C$0.24 on October 21, 2026, one day before this release and within two cents of the 52-week low of C$0.22. The current price does not reflect the anchor result, as the stock has halved since the anchor was published. The new intercepts are not materially better in grade-and-width substance than previously demonstrated on the property, being worse than the 2025 holes and far worse than the 2018-2022 holes.
Walker River Resources Corp. (TSXV: WRR) is a pre-revenue gold explorer headquartered in Vancouver with a Nevada operating office in Yerington. Its sole asset is the Lapon Gold Project: 147 unpatented mining claims covering approximately 2,940 acres in the Wassuk Range, within Nevada's Walker Lane structural corridor, roughly 60 km southeast of Yerington. The project comprises the Lapon Canyon claim block (96 claims, subject to a US$5M exploration stream earn-in agreement with Nevada Canyon Gold Corp. announced February 3, 2025), plus Pikes Peak about 4 km to the north and the Rattlesnake and Range Front claims about 3 km west and at lower elevation, together covering roughly 8 km of interpreted range-front structural trend. Lapon Canyon contains about 610 m of historical underground development through three adits. Infrastructure is reasonable: secondary state road access about 25 km from the highway and transmission lines within roughly 3 km.
Exploration status: no mineral resource, no reserves, no PEA, no economic study, no metallurgy. Historical drilling and sampling highlight grades include: * LC 15-01 (12.2 m at 40.27 g/t) * LC 18-28 (45.72 m at 12.55 g/t) * LC 19-45 (1.52 m at 346.4 g/t) * LC-21-82 (122 m at 1.84 g/t)
2024 Pikes Peak channel samples reached up to 36.4 g/t and a Rattlesnake adit chip sample returned 17.35 g/t. The 2004 Montgomery & Barr technical report cites a historical sample of 20.6 oz/t Au from the end of the A Adit; the company correctly caveats these as non-current and not indicative.
Financial backdrop (prior-period context — not disclosed in today's release): FY-2025 net loss C$1,300,274; six months to May 31, 2026 net loss C$435,274 with SG&A of C$435,295; cash C$1,671,222; total assets C$10,831,990; total liabilities C$566,043; total equity C$10,265,947; book value C$0.17/share; no debt; operating cash outflow C$398,643 for the six months. Management states liquidity is sufficient for the next twelve months but flags that additional financing may be needed for expanded programmes. The MD&A notes US$1,936,491 of the US$5M Nevada Canyon earn-in has been spent to date. Management: Michel David (President, CEO and Director), Christopher J. Hobbs (CFO), Eric Falardeau and René Lessard (independent directors). No ESG disclosure in the provided materials.
