Orogen Royalties Enters into Agreement to Sell the Slaughterhouse Copper-Gold Project to Seabridge Gold
Orogen monetizes its early-stage IOCG asset through a Seabridge deal while retaining high-leverage regional royalties.

Orogen Royalties Inc. has signed a purchase and sale agreement to divest 100% of its Slaughterhouse IOCG project in Wyoming to Seabridge Gold. The upfront consideration is modest at US$300,000 on closing, with up to US$2.55 million in milestone payments tied to drilling, resource definition, and production.
Orogen retains a 2.5% NSR on the Slaughterhouse property and a 0.5% to 1% NSR on a surrounding 2,400 square kilometre Area of Interest (AOI). The project features a 12-kilometre mineralized trend with hematite-dominated IOCG targets, analogs to the Gawler Craton, and grab samples returning up to 12 g/t Au and 7% Cu. Management frames the transaction as a strategic monetization that preserves long-term royalty upside while leveraging Seabridge's exploration expertise.
Orogen Royalties Inc. (OGN) executed a transaction that aligns with its established prospect generation strategy, offering potential asymmetric upside through retained royalties on the Slaughterhouse project and an expansive 2,400 square kilometer area of interest. While the upfront cash component is nominal at $300,000, the deal positions the company to benefit if Seabridge advances the target. The market has already incorporated Orogen’s project monetization approach into its valuation, with the stock’s recent pullback from August highs reflecting consolidation rather than negative sentiment.
Orogen Royalties Inc. (OGN) operates a four-step royalty generation model that involves identifying high-potential targets, partnering with junior and strategic companies, retaining net smelter return (NSR) royalties, and scaling its portfolio. The company’s flagship asset is the Ermitaño mine in Sonora, Mexico, where it holds a 2% NSR interest with First Majestic. The mine produces gold and silver and is currently expanding its Navidad and Santo Niño underground development.
The company’s pipeline includes the Haldane project in Yukon (silver), MPD South in British Columbia (copper-gold), HWY 37 in British Columbia (copper-gold), Maggie Creek in Nevada (gold), Spring Peak in Nevada (gold), and multiple targets in Nevada and Utah. Strategic alliances with Altius Minerals, South32, Triple Flag Precious Metals, and Aurum Discovery (Norway) fund early-stage exploration.
