Aurania Completes Drilling at Thormodsdalur Gold Project in Iceland

Aurania completes drilling in Iceland with perfect core recovery, awaiting November assay results for its project.

Executive Summary

Aurania Resources Ltd. has completed its 2026 drill program at the Thormodsdalur epithermal gold-silver project in Iceland. The program comprised eight holes totaling 780.70 metres, executed by Arctic Drilling Company Oy Ltd using HQ3 diamond core barrels.

Core recovery improved dramatically to at or close to 100% in most holes, resolving prior historical issues where recovery was approximately 50% or less due to clay-rich, broken vein material. All eight holes intersected mineralized textures consistent with a low-sulphidation epithermal gold-silver system, including crustiform-colloform chalcedonic quartz and hydrothermal breccias. The drilling successfully twinned historical holes to re-test vein zones previously affected by core loss, directly addressing a key technical limitation of past exploration.

No assay results are included in this release; samples have been submitted to ALS laboratory with results expected in November 2026.

Material Impact

Aurania Resources Ltd. (ARU) has completed its drilling program, a milestone that confirms management’s ability to execute technical challenges, specifically core recovery, in difficult ground. The improvement in core recovery represents a positive technical development that will yield higher-quality data for future resource estimation, though it does not immediately change the company's valuation or cash flow profile.

The absence of assay results means the market cannot yet price in grade continuity or thickness. The news is in line with previous expectations set by the September 2026 drilling start announcement. Impact on stock price is expected to be neutral to mildly positive in the short term, with the true catalyst deferred until the November assay release.

Company Overview

Aurania Resources Ltd. is focused on developing "micromines" and reprocessing historic waste deposits to extract critical metals with a minimal environmental footprint and low capital expenditure. The company’s flagship project is Thormodsdalur, also known as Thor's Valley, located in Iceland approximately 20 km east of Reykjavik. This low-sulphidation epithermal gold-silver system has returned historical drilling grades of up to 415.40 g/t Au. The project is targeted for potential direct-shipping siliceous ore, similar to the Hishikari mine in Japan.

The company also holds a secondary project in Italy at Balangero, which is a tailings retreatment operation targeting approximately 153 million tonnes of dry-stacked serpentinite waste containing awaruite, a nickel-iron alloy. Preliminary sampling indicates approximately 0.15% Ni. Additionally, Aurania holds exploration licenses in Brittany, France, for polymetallic strategic metals, and has suspended assets in Ecuador at the Cutucu project due to regulatory fees.
