Equinox Gold Reports Q3 Production Results Following Transformational Combination with Orla; Expanded Canadian Production Platform Positioned for Strong Finish to 2026
Equinox reported third-quarter results boosted by Orla, maintained its 2026 guidance, and returned its balance sheet to a net cash position.

Equinox Gold Corp. (EQX) released preliminary third-quarter 2026 gold production and sales figures, along with corporate and balance sheet updates, ahead of its formal earnings release scheduled for November 9, 2026. The company reported Q3 gold production of 237,019 oz and gold sales of 248,484 oz. This marks the first reporting period to include the Orla assets, covering two months of Musselwhite and Camino Rojo following the July 31, 2026, close.
Consolidated year-to-date production reached 611,483 oz. Management stated the company remains on track for its updated 2026 guidance of 870,000–920,000 oz, which equates to approximately 1.1 million oz on a full-12-month combined basis.
On the balance sheet, EQX repaid $190 million of debt in the third quarter, bringing year-to-date repayments to approximately $1.2 billion. The company holds $527 million in cash, resulting in a net cash position of $163 million, excluding in-the-money 2023 converts. Total liquidity stands at $1.2 billion. Additionally, $172.5 million of 4.75% convertible notes are set to be redeemed on or before October 19, 2026, as previously announced on September 21, 2026.
At the South Railroad project in Nevada, the company received the Record of Decision and final federal permits. Early works construction has commenced, with first gold production planned for 2028, per the announcement made on August 17, 2026.
Regarding capital returns, EQX repurchased 759,000 shares in Q3 for approximately $9.0 million. Year-to-date share repurchases totaled 1,697,600 shares for approximately $20.7 million. Management expects to continue repurchasing shares opportunistically in the fourth quarter. The release was narrated by Jason Simpson, former Orla CEO and current President, while CEO Darren Hall was referenced only in the context of the leadership transition.
Equinox Gold Corp. (EQX) issued a non-earnings release containing no new guidance or cost data. The primary new information consists of preliminary third-quarter volumes and confirmation that the raised production guide of 870,000–920,000 ounces remains intact.
The release also recapped previously announced items, including the closure of the Orla mine, the South Railroad ROD, and the convertible redemption.
Equinox’s stock price movement was driven by market reactions to prior events rather than this specific update. The shares rerated from approximately $12.56 on July 31 to $19.33 on August 25, following the Orla close and an August 5 guidance raise and dividend hike. The stock subsequently retreated to approximately $15.78 by September 30 before stabilizing at $16.32 on October 9. This update serves to confirm the company’s trajectory toward the lower end to midpoint of the 870,000–920,000 ounce range and a return to net cash.
Equinox Gold Corp. (TSX: EQX / NYSE American: EQX) has restructured into a North America-focused senior gold producer through three major transactions: the merger with Calibre, the $1.015 billion sale of its Brazil operations which closed on January 23, 2026, and a 1:1 all-share combination with Orla Mining that closed on July 31, 2026.
The company now operates seven mines across four countries. More than 60% of its production comes from three Canadian cornerstone mines: Greenstone, Musselwhite, and Valentine. The remainder of the portfolio includes Mesquite in the USA, El Limón and Libertad in Nicaragua, Camino Rojo in Mexico, and the residual Castle Mountain mine in the USA.
The growth and development pipeline includes South Railroad, which is under construction with first gold expected in 2028, and Valentine Phase 2, which has been approved for late 2028. Other projects include the Castle Mountain expansion currently in permitting, the Los Filos restart and CIL project in Mexico, and the Camino Rojo underground operation.
Leadership changes are underway as Jason Simpson, currently President, will become CEO when Darren Hall retires on October 31, 2026. Chuck Jeannes serves as chair, and Ross Beaty is Chairman Emeritus. This release marks Simpson’s first production-report narrative, signaling the transition.
