Kirkland Lake Discoveries Corp. Closes Upsized $20M Brokered Private Placement Led by Eric Sprott
Kirkland Lake Discoveries closes a $20 million upsized financing to fund drilling at its Mirado project.

Kirkland Lake Discoveries Corp. (KLDC) has closed its previously announced brokered private placement, upsizing the offering to raise approximately $20.17 million in gross proceeds. The financing structure includes flow-through shares (FT), special flow-through shares (Special FT), and hard-dollar common shares (HD). Renowned resource investor Eric Sprott participated as a cornerstone investor in the transaction.
Proceeds from the flow-through and special flow-through shares are allocated to eligible Canadian exploration expenses, which are renounceable by December 31, 2026, while the hard-dollar common shares are designated for general corporate purposes. Agent compensation for the offering includes cash commissions and 2,121,460 non-transferable broker warrants exercisable at $0.35 per share for a period of 24 months. The securities issued are subject to a statutory hold period expiring on February 9, 2027.
Kirkland Lake Discoveries Corp. (KLDC) has closed a $20.17 million financing, a move that materially extends the company’s cash runway and directly addresses the going concern uncertainties highlighted in its Q2 2026 MD&A. The final amount represents an upsizing from the initial $15 million target, a shift that demonstrates strong institutional and retail demand for the project.
Eric Sprott participated as a cornerstone investor, providing third-party validation of the Mirado project's geology and the management team's execution. As the closing of a previously announced transaction, the immediate market reaction is expected to be measured. However, the capital injection removes near-term dilution risk and provides funding for the critical 2026 drill program.
Kirkland Lake Discoveries Corp. (KLDC) operates a 420-square-kilometre exploration portfolio in the prolific Abitibi Greenstone Belt of Ontario, centered around the historic Kirkland Lake gold camp. The company’s flagship asset is the Mirado project, acquired in March 2026, which holds a historical inferred resource of 10.6 million tonnes at 1.29 g/t Au for approximately 442,000 ounces. KLDC is actively drilling the South and North Zones at Mirado, focusing on high-grade structural vein systems and deep extensions.
Additional projects include KL West (Winnie Lake, Wolverine Bend), which targets intrusion-related gold and VMS-style polymetallic systems, and KL East. The company is in the exploration phase with no proven or probable reserves reported.
