Largo Receives Environmental Permit for GAN Open Pit Vanadium-Copper-Gold-PGM Mine Development

Largo’s permit extension extends mine life, though liquidity and going concern risks dominate the near-term outlook.

Executive Summary

Largo Inc. (LGO) has secured an environmental permit from INEMA in Bahia, Brazil, for the Gulçari A Norte (GAN) open pit, a critical component of its Maracás Menchen portfolio. The four-year license authorizes implementation and operation for the GAN pit, a new waste rock stockpile, a calcined tailings facility, an expansion of the Dry Mag stockpile, and associated access roads.

The GAN deposit is situated adjacent to the Campbell open pit, which has served as the sole source of Largo’s vanadium production for the past 12 years. This development diversifies ore sources, reduces operating risks, and supports the company’s current 31-year mine plan. The deposit contains vanadium alongside by-products including copper, gold, and platinum group metals (PGMs).

The technical basis for the project relies on a NI 43-101 report effective January 30, 2024. The Maracás Menchen portfolio comprises five open pits with a resource base projected to last over 30 years at current production rates.

Material Impact

Largo Inc. (LGO) has secured the GAN permit, an operational milestone that extends mine life and reduces single-pit dependency, a development structurally positive for long-term asset sustainability. The permitting update does not alter near-term financials, liquidity, or the going concern uncertainty explicitly flagged in the Q1 2026 MD&A.

The market has already priced in the copper-PGM ramp and DLA contract. This permitting update was expected and telegraphed within the existing 31-year plan. The stock is currently trading at a multi-month low of $0.64.
