Au Gold Corp Increases Oversubscribed Private Placement to $3.5 Million
Au raised $3.5m via an oversubscribed placement to expand the 5,000m drill program at the Havelock project.

AU Gold Corp. has increased its non-brokered private placement from $2.0 million to $3.5 million, citing strong investor demand. The financing consists of 15,217,500 units priced at $0.23 per unit. Each unit comprises one common share and one-half warrant, with warrants exercisable at $0.40 per share for a three-year term.
Proceeds from the transaction are designated for exploration at the Havelock Gold-Antimony Project and general corporate purposes. The deal includes a standard four-month-and-one-day hold period and remains subject to TSX Venture Exchange approval. Management noted that while demand was strong, the company capped the raise to balance dilution against the exploration budget.
AU Gold Corp. (AUGC) announced on October 2 that it has raised $3.5 million, a direct follow-up to its September 29 financing announcement. The market was already aware of the capital raise and the planned expansion of the maiden drill program from 2,000 meters to 5,000 meters.
The placement price of $0.23 represents a ~15% discount to the recent market price of $0.27. This discount, combined with the issuance of ~15.2 million new shares (~20% dilution on a ~75M share base), creates near-term selling pressure and caps upside until the hold period expires. The news is incremental and expected, serving as a routine capital raise to fund a pre-planned drilling campaign without altering the fundamental exploration-stage status of the company or guaranteeing resource definition.
Au Gold Corp. (AUGC) is an exploration-stage company focused on gold and antimony projects in Canada and Australia. Its flagship asset is the Havelock Gold-Antimony Project in Victoria, Australia, which spans 11,663 hectares within the Victorian Gold Fields. The property hosts shallow, undrilled epizonal and mesozonal gold-antimony targets along the Shaw-McFarlane Trend, which has a strike length of approximately 9 km.
Historical hard rock production from the site between 1864 and 1891 totaled approximately 17,097 ounces at an average grade of 28.7 g/t Au. Historic workings reached depths of 152 to 274 meters, leaving significant depth potential untested. Modern literature links similar epizonal systems, such as Fosterville and Costerfield, to depth extensions exceeding 1,000 meters.
The company is currently in the exploration stage, with plans for its first modern diamond drilling to test down-plunge continuations of historical high-grade shoots. No NI 43-101 resources exist for the project.
