Visionary Launches Sampling Program of Historic Drill Core from Pt. Leamington in Central Newfoundland

Visionary’s historical core resampling adds no new assays ahead of its planned 20,000m Phase 2 drilling program.

Executive Summary

Visionary Copper and Gold Mines Inc. announced a hyperspectral-guided historical core review and sampling program at the Pt. Leamington VMS deposit in central Newfoundland. The initiative follows hyperspectral scanning and high-resolution core photography conducted on 48 historical drill holes by the College of the North Atlantic Hyperspectral Scanning Unit. The review identified eight historical holes containing visible sulphide stringer mineralization within broad quartz-chlorite-white mica alteration that were either unsampled or incompletely sampled by historic operators.

The company plans to resample up to 2,000 metres of historical core ahead of its previously announced 20,000-metre Phase 2 drill program. The release contains no new assay results but repeats previously reported Kraken zone intercepts:

  • PL-118: 22.5 m at 0.53% Cu and 41.5 m at 0.39% Cu, including 7.5 m at 0.89% Cu
  • PL-112: 75.8 m at 0.45% Cu, including 12.0 m at 1.09% Cu

The release also describes historical hole PL-010 as passing approximately 20 metres from PL-118, with visible sulphide stringer mineralization within a broad altered interval approximately 80 m core length that was not historically sampled. Citing the Ming Mine in Newfoundland as a geological analogue for broad copper-rich footwall stringer mineralization beneath VMS lenses, the company cautioned that Ming’s grades and scale are not indicative of Pt. Leamington.

Material Impact

Visionary Copper and Gold Mines Inc. (VCG) is a junior exploration and development company that is not yet a producer. While the Pt. Leamington project already holds a 2021 mineral resource, the company remains dependent on exploration success, permitting, metallurgy, and future studies.

The market has already re-rated the stock following the Kraken discovery. The anchor result was PL-112’s 75.8 m at 0.45% Cu, first reported on March 2, 2026. Following that release, the share price rose from approximately C$0.87–0.97 to a high of C$1.84 by July 2, 2026, and is currently trading at C$1.35.

Today’s release adds no new assay information, no new tonnes, no new grade, and no new metallurgical or economic data. It is an operational update regarding a sampling program that has not yet yielded results.

It represents ordinary news flow within an already-known exploration thesis. If subsequent assays from the 2,000 m of historical core deliver meaningful copper grades over significant widths, that would constitute a separate, potentially market-relevant event.

Company Overview

Visionary Copper and Gold Mines Inc., a Canadian junior explorer and developer listed on the TSXV and OTCQB under the tickers VCG and VCGMF respectively, holds several key assets across Canada. Its primary property is the Pt. Leamington VMS deposit in Newfoundland, which is 100% owned. Resource estimates for Pt. Leamington include a pit-constrained Indicated category of 5.0 million tonnes at 1.42% copper equivalent for 156.8 million pounds of copper equivalent, and a pit-constrained Inferred category of 13.7 million tonnes at 1.27% copper equivalent for 384.8 million pounds of copper equivalent. Additionally, the site contains an out-of-pit Inferred resource of 1.7 million tonnes at 1.74% copper equivalent for 65.7 million pounds of copper equivalent.

The company also owns the Rainbow deposit within the Pine Bay Project in Manitoba, which holds 3.44 million tonnes indicated at 3.59% copper equivalent and 1.28 million tonnes inferred at 2.95% copper equivalent. The Pine Bay deposit itself contains 1.0 million tonnes inferred at 2.62% copper. In New Brunswick, the Nash Creek Project features a 2018 Preliminary Economic Assessment that reported a pre-tax internal rate of return of 34.1% and a net present value at an 8% discount rate of C$230 million, based on zinc prices of US$1.25 per pound.

According to prior-period financial data from ROIC.ai as of September 30, 2025, the company reported cash of C$53,530, current assets of C$211,657, total assets of C$43.63 million, and total liabilities of C$3.90 million.
