Ashley Gold Corp. Announces Historic Core Assays from Howie Project, ON, Cuts 0.33 g/t Au over 25.74m

The intense, wide zones of sulphide mineralization present in the holes was exciting to see, and likely caused Esso to return for two back to back years, drilling in 1986 and 1987. The drilling was sparse and very exploratory in nature, as evidenced by the distance and orientation of the holes in Image 1. Overall, this effort was extremely cost effective, showing that gold mineralization is present near the surface and providing the company valuable data that will guide next steps. The assays have unveiled that main mineralization occurs at the contacts of the host rock in proximity to the Twilight Zone and shows a stronger correlation West to East like the 2D IP survey has suggested. It also appears that the historic holes missed the chargeability high present from the IP survey. This information comes at a perfect time, as Operations Manager Will Kuran and Exploration Manager Shannon Baird, P.Geo will be on the Howie to assess the complex structural setting. At this stage of exploration, this data is foundational to our model and can efficiently guide capital deployment. With our IP survey in hand, the un-drilled area around the Twilight zone is a key target - which can be approached in a future scout drilling program. These early results, just like our channel sampling program, hint at bulk tonnage scenarios. Samples were then placed in pre-labelled sample bags. Samples were securely transported by field staff to ActLabs in Dryden, ON for 1A3 Au fire assay. Samples are dried and pulverized with subsequent random sample size of 5 to 50 grams. The sample is mixed with fire assay fluxes (borax, soda ash, silica, litharge) and with Ag added as a collector and the mixture is placed in a fire clay crucible. The mixture is then preheated at 850°C, intermediate 950°C and finish 1060°C with the entire fusion process lasting 60 minutes. The crucibles are then removed from the assay furnace and the molten slag (lighter material) is carefully poured from the crucible into a mould, leaving a lead button at the base of the mould. The lead button is then placed in a preheated cupel which absorbs the lead when cupelled at 950°C to recover the Ag (doré bead) + Au. Au is separated from the Ag in the doré bead by parting with nitric acid.
