Metal Energy Closes Additional Investment from Strategic Investors
Metal’s strategic backers maintain their stakes as maiden drilling advances at the NIV project.

Metal Energy Corp. announced the closing of an additional investment from existing strategic shareholders Centerra Gold Inc. and Teck Resources Limited. Both investors exercised their "top-up rights" under existing investor rights agreements to maintain their respective 9.9% equity interests in the company.
The company issued 550,000 common shares at C$0.89 per share, raising approximately C$490,000 in gross proceeds. Proceeds are designated for general corporate and working capital purposes, specifically directed toward ongoing exploration at the NIV project.
Drilling at the NIV project commenced on June 29, 2026, marking the start of a 6,000-metre maiden drill program. The company states it is fully funded for its 2026 exploration programs. No warrants were issued, and no finder's fees were paid. Shares are subject to a statutory hold period of four months and one day.
Metal Energy Corp. (MERG) closed a top-up financing, a routine follow-up to the December 2025 strategic financing that initially brought Centerra and Teck on board. The transaction confirms continued institutional and strategic confidence in the NIV project's geological potential, validating the company's exploration thesis without introducing new dilution beyond pre-agreed terms.
The $490,000 raise is immaterial to the overall $9+ million balance sheet but serves as a necessary administrative and financial maintenance of the strategic partnership. The news reinforces the company's funding status for the maiden NIV drill program and the upcoming Highland Valley program, removing near-term capital raising uncertainty for 2026.
Metal Energy Corp. (MERG) is a pre-revenue exploration-stage company focused on copper, gold, nickel, and battery metals in Canada. Its flagship project is the NIV Copper-Gold-Molybdenum property, located in the Toodoggone District of British Columbia. The NIV property spans 12,500 hectares and is fully permitted and drill-ready, sitting approximately 32 km south of Centerra Gold's Kemess mine complex. Geological targets include a 5-kilometre long north-northwest trending soil anomaly with coincident geophysical features, including IP chargeability, resistivity, and magnetic lows/highs, which are indicative of a large-scale porphyry system.
The company also holds secondary assets, including the 100%-owned Highland Valley Copper Project, which covers 240 square kilometres and is permitted for drilling, and the 85%-owned Manibridge Project, which focuses on Ni-Cu-Co-PGE in Manitoba.
