Largo Secures US$82.2 Million Debt Restructuring, Extending Maturity to 2030

Largo secures a 2030 debt extension while facing cash burn and a share price below one dollar.

Executive Summary

Largo Inc. (LGO) and its Brazilian operating subsidiary, LVMSA, have signed a binding term sheet with five Brazilian banks to restructure approximately US$82.2 million of LVMSA commercial bank debt. The agreement extends the final maturity date from September 2026 to March 2030.

Under the proposed terms, the company will benefit from a six-month principal amortization grace period, followed by 36 months of quarterly principal amortization, with interest payable monthly. The restructuring is not yet closed and remains subject to definitive documentation, settling the interest rate, documenting the collateral package, and customary closing conditions.

Management stated that the extension provides runway to ramp copper-PGM concentrate production and deliver the first US$60 million high-purity vanadium pentoxide order to the U.S. Defense Logistics Agency. The company will hold its Q2 2026 earnings webcast on August 21, 2026, the day after this announcement.

Material Impact

Largo Inc. (LGO) has restructured US$82.2 million of debt, representing approximately 72% of its reported total debt as of Q2 2026. The extension pushes the maturity date from September 2026 to March 2030, a move that materially reduces near-term default and covenant stress.

As of Q2 2026, the company held only US$5.1 million in cash against US$114.2 million of total debt, including a near-dated bank maturity. Despite the credit improvement, underlying cash generation remains weak and the company is still loss-making. The restructuring is currently only a binding term sheet rather than a completed definitive agreement.

The market context suggests the news was partially priced in, as the stock fell from US$1.00 on August 14 to US$0.89 by August 19, reflecting elevated pessimism. The debt extension serves to differentiate the company from that near-term liquidity fear.
