Ellis Martin Report: RUA Gold (NZAUF) Drilling Glamorgan and Advancing Reefton Toward Production
Rua advances drilling at Glamorgan and fast-tracking Reefton while its stock price consolidates.

CEO Robert Eckford provided an executive interview update covering two primary assets: the Glamorgan Project (North Island) and the Reefton Project (South Island). The Glamorgan Project has secured a five-year drilling permit for the previously undrilled epithermal gold system. Approximately 9,000 meters of drilling is planned targeting the Sutcliffe and Wires Ridge areas.
The Reefton Project has qualified for New Zealand's Fast-track Approvals process. A Preliminary Feasibility Study (PFS) and mine application are targeted for completion in Q4 2026.
Financially, the company holds approximately $30 million in cash to execute current programs. Management prefers non-dilutive financing options, including offtake agreements and debt, to fund development while preserving shareholder equity. Management anticipates major catalysts over the next six months.
Rua Gold Inc. (RUA) released an update on August 13, serving as a direct follow-up to the Glamorgan drilling permit approval on August 4 and the Reefton Fast-track qualification on July 30. The company reiterated previously disclosed financials, including $30 million in cash, and outlined development timelines without introducing new surprises or material changes to the project economics.
While the emphasis on non-dilutive financing represents a positive strategic note, it remains unexecuted at this stage.
Rua Gold Inc. (TSX: RUA, NZX: RGI, OTCQB: NZAUF) is transitioning from an exploration company to a mine developer in New Zealand. Its flagship asset is the Auld Creek Gold-Antimony Project within the Reefton Goldfield on the South Island, a district that historically produced over 2 million ounces of gold. The company also holds the Glamogen Project on the North Island, an undrilled epithermal gold system adjacent to OceanaGold's Wharekirauponga deposit.
A preliminary economic assessment outlines a 5.5-year underground mine life processing 250,000 tonnes per year, producing approximately 27,000 AuEq ounces annually. The project yields an after-tax NPV5% of $42 million at base-case prices of $3,300/oz Au and $113 million at spot prices of $4,700/oz Au. Rua Gold is leveraging New Zealand's Fast-track Approvals Act to accelerate permitting, targeting production by 2028.
