Montage Gold confirms the prospectivity of its Wende advanced greenfield exploration property in Cote d'Ivoire
Montage’s 6.3 moz Koné project targets first gold in late 2026, with early-stage Wendé results confirming resource potential.

Montage Gold Corp. has released drill results from its 9,000-meter program at the Bobosso target within its Wendé advanced greenfield property in Côte d’Ivoire. The reported intercepts confirm continuity with historical holes, extend mineralization along strike and downdip, and support the company’s goal to delineate a maiden resource.
Selected highlights from the core length data include: - BMRC0030: 6.0 m @ 3.86 g/t Au (98 m), 8.0 m @ 8.06 g/t Au (134 m), 14.0 m @ 2.92 g/t Au (146 m) - BMRC0029B: 13.0 m @ 4.36 g/t Au (32 m) - BMRC0021: 24.0 m @ 0.96 g/t Au (4 m) - BMRC0014: 17.0 m @ 1.35 g/t Au (95 m) - BMRC0026: 8.0 m @ 2.68 g/t Au (20 m) - BMRC0008: 8.0 m @ 1.98 g/t Au (47 m)
The release also announces the addition of the adjacent Dabakala permit, which covers 349 km². To date, 6,539 m of the 9,000 m program have been completed, with remaining work scheduled for Q3 2026.
Montage Gold Corp. (MAU) is a well-capitalized near-term producer, distinguishing it from junior explorers that rely on greenfield results for funding. The company’s Wendé property is in an early stage, with no established resource or economic study, meaning these drill results do not contribute to near-term net asset value.
The results are confirmatory, aligning with historical data without significantly altering the understanding of the Bobosso target or the property’s scale. There was no discovery hole or major step-out that opens entirely new ground.
The market, as reflected by the share price rise from approximately $4.40 to over $16 over the past year, is primarily driven by construction progress at Koné, resource upgrades, and the Didievi acquisition. The Wendé news serves as a minor incremental positive and is unlikely to move the stock independently.
Montage Gold Corp. is a Canadian-based gold company advancing its flagship Koné project in Côte d’Ivoire toward first production, with the oxide circuit targeted for late Q4 2026 and the full hard-rock circuit for Q2 2027. The Koné deposit hosts 6.3 million ounces of Measured and Indicated resources at 0.80 g/t Au and 2.0 million ounces of Inferred resources at 0.68 g/t Au, alongside several higher-grade satellite deposits containing 1.7 million ounces of Measured and Indicated resources at 1.51 g/t Au.
Through the acquisition of African Gold in April 2026, the company added the Didievi project, which includes the Blaffo Guetto deposit comprising 12.4 million tonnes at 2.5 g/t Au Inferred, along with a 60,000-meter drill program to expand the resource. The firm’s greenfield exploration portfolio also includes the Wendé and Dabakala permits in Côte d’Ivoire and early-stage permits in Mauritania.
Montage Gold is well funded with total liquidity of approximately $440 million, comprising a fully drawn $625 million Wheaton Stream, undrawn loan facilities, and cash. Construction on the project is currently on-budget and ahead of schedule.
