AuMEGA Metals Commences Inaugural Drilling of the Isle aux Morts Granite
AuMega’s first-ever drilling at the underexplored granite advances its district-scale gold play.
AuMega Metals Ltd. (AUM) has officially commenced its 2026 diamond drilling program at the Isle aux Morts Granite (IAMG) and Cape Ray West properties in Newfoundland and Labrador. This marks the first-ever subsurface testing of these specific targets, which lie along the under-explored Cape Ray Shear Zone (CRSZ). The initial phase focuses on testing structural, geochemical, and geophysical targets identified through recent systematic exploration.
Following IAMG and Cape Ray West, the company plans to commence drilling at the Bunker Hill target later in the summer of 2026. The existing Cape Ray Shear Zone hosts a defined gold mineral resource of 6.2 million tonnes at 2.25 g/t gold (450,000 ounces indicated) and 3.4 million tonnes at 1.44 g/t gold (160,000 ounces inferred).
