FORTY PILLARS COMPLETES VLF DRONE SURVEY AT THE VAL D'OR NORTH PROPERTY
Forty Pillars Mining Corp. has completed the very-low-frequency (VLF) drone survey at its Val d'Or North property.
Val d'Or North property highlights
The property comprises a package of 59 claims, covering approximately 2,800 hectares of ground in three separated blocks situated in the northeastern Val d'Or mining camp at the southeast of the metal-rich Abitibi subprovince within the Superior structural province, and belongs to the Kinojevis group, which is characterized by its abundances of volcanic rocks.
This very significant member of the mineral-rich Abitibi subgroup is host to numerous showings and significant discoveries of gold and base metals.
Readers are cautioned that the geology of nearby properties is not necessarily indicative of the geology of the property. The bedrock geology of the property is dominated by sequences of mafic to felsic volcanic and some sedimentary rocks intruded by abundant gabbro sills, which include the Lanaudiere, Assup, Landrienne and Deguisier formations, as well as slightly metamorphism evidence and the regional-scale faults that could play significant roles in placing and concentrating mineralization.
Presence of the granite-tonalite intrusive body adjacent to the west of the property and also the Mont Gay batholith in the northeast could be considered as source and engine for mineralization-related activities. The reported metamorphism features in volcanic and volcano sediment rocks as well as in intruded gabbroic sills could be considered good evidence for such activities. In general, the lithological and geological setting of the Val d'Or North property is significant promising potential gold, molybdenumite and copper-zinc mineralization.
Drone surveys highlights and conclusions
The company engaged Pioneer Exploration Consultant Ltd. to fly the drone VLF survey over the Val d'Or North property. The VLF survey was conducted at 26-degree direction and totalled about 187 line kilometres at a 150-metre line spacing, with sensors set to be about 60 metres above the ground level.
According to the conducted VLF survey, most of the detected conductors are correlated with gabbroic sills, which is possibly due to the presence of sulphides disseminated in the sills' body rock or any sulphide mineralization associated with these geological features. However, some of these gabbroic sills have not responded to the survey, which could be due to lack of sulphide minerals. This fact, on the other hand, could be concluded in a bit different way as below.
Since the fact that the presence of sulphide iron formations made up of pyrite and pyrrhotite and locally, including graphite with trends parallel to the strike of the sedimentary rocks with both magnetic and electromagnetic responses in the south Senneterre region were reported, the very similar situation in the Val d'Or North property in which some linear and tabular features respond to both magnetic and recent VLF surveys should be taken in very detail consideration.
According to the concept mentioned above and considering the geochemical anomalies, all the conductive anomalies are considered as potential targets regardless of their correlation with magnetic anomalies, which in return show eight promising zones for targeting gold and base metal mineralization were identified as below.
Zone 1 consists of few conductive anomalies in volcanic bedrock correlated with low and moderate magnetic anomalies.
In Zone 2, there is a relatively long conductive anomaly with no correlation with diabase intrusion but small gabbroic bodies, which need to be studied in more detail.
Zone 3 includes several intersecting conductive anomalies correlated with some low to medium magnetic and some gold and base metals geochemical anomalies associated with bedrock lithological setting of granodiorite, volcanics and gabbro.
Zone 4 includes a conductive anomaly associated with a gabbroic sill and correlated with a very high magnetic anomaly.
Zone 5 consists of few conductive anomalies correlated with moderate to high magnetic and also medium gold and base metals geochemical anomalies associated with gabbroic sills.
In Zone 6, there are two intersecting conductive anomalies associated with gabbroic sills with gold geochemical anomalies, in which one is correlated with magnetic anomaly and the other is not.
Zone 7 consists of a long conductive anomaly associated with gabbroic sill correlated with strong magnetic anomaly and low to moderate base metals geochemical anomalies.
Zone 8 includes a conductive anomaly, which is not correlated with magnetic conductors but is probably associated with an inferred conductive linear feature along the gabbroic sill.
The company intends to advance the exploration program through conducting follow-up geochemical soil sampling and ground geophysical surveys at the promising zones in order to complete the area reduction process for identifying the most promising target zones for designing and executing drilling program targeting precious and base metal deposits.
