Fitzroy Minerals and Fleet Space Technologies Use Machine-Learning to Define 9 Untested Targets at the Buen Retiro Copper Project, Chile
Fitzroy has identified nine new copper targets at its Buen Retiro project in Chile through magnetic lineament analysis.

Fitzroy Minerals Inc. (FTZ) announced an integrated seismic and machine-learning targeting study conducted with Fleet Space Technologies at its Buen Retiro Copper Project in Chile. The ML model combined four 3D geophysical datasets—Ambient Noise Tomography shear-wave velocity, IP chargeability, IP resistivity, and magnetic susceptibility—with approximately 24,400 copper assays from 140 drill holes.
The model identified nine new, untested priority target domains located within 400 metres of the surface, excluding previously mined ground or areas within 200 metres of existing drill holes. A 5,000-metre drilling program using diamond and reverse circulation (RC) rigs has been initiated to test these targets. Each new hole will validate and update the ML model and inform future drilling.
The targets are conceptual and do not confirm the presence, grade, size, or continuity of mineralization. The model's reliability decreases with distance from existing drill holes and with depth. Qualified Person Dr. Scott Jobin-Bevans reviewed and approved the technical information.
Fitzroy Minerals Inc. (FTZ) released an incremental exploration update that aligns with its strategy to expand the 1.7-kilometre oxide trend and identify new sulphide targets using advanced geophysics. The company noted that the release represents an exploration update rather than a discovery.
Historical drilling has consistently returned wide, shallow copper mineralization, including 111.9 m @ 0.97% Cu and 384 m @ 0.22% Cu. Metallurgical tests have shown favorable heap-leach recoveries, reaching up to 82.6% in mini-columns and trending toward 95% in 1-metre columns.
The ML targeting tool serves as a cost-effective method to de-risk future drilling. However, the fundamental valuation will not change until the maiden Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) and Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA) are released. The news is expected and follows a clear progression of exploration activities, introducing no unexpected financial or operational changes.
Fitzroy Minerals Inc. (TSX-V: FTZ, OTCQX: FTZFF) is a copper exploration and development company focused on two primary projects in Chile: Buen Retiro and Caballos.
Buen Retiro is an Iron Oxide Copper-Gold (IOCG) system located approximately 80 km south of Los Pelambres. The project features excellent infrastructure, low elevation, and proximity to the Pan-American Highway and high-voltage transmission lines. The development pathway focuses on a conventional and enhanced heap-leach/SX-EW process, targeting production in early 2028.
Caballos is a grass-roots Cu-Mo-Au porphyry system located approximately 100 km north of Los Bronces. Deep IP and MobileMT surveys have identified large conductive/chargeable anomalies consistent with porphyry systems. Phase 2 drilling is planned to test these targets.
