New Break Drills 3.46 g/t Au Over 38.6 Metres and Intercepts Gold in Syenite at its Moray Gold Project
New Break’s Moray discovery widens with high-grade hits and virgin syenite gold, echoing Young-Davidson’s scale potential.

On May 13, 2026, New Break Resources reported the first results from its 2026 diamond drilling at the 100%-owned Moray gold project, consisting of 3,376 metres in 22 holes along the Zavitz zone. The campaign delivered multiple wide, gold-bearing intercepts in mafic volcanics: 3.46 g/t Au over 38.6 m (hole NBR-26-05), 2.77 g/t Au over 21.5 m including 46.50 g/t Au over 0.5 m with visible gold (NBR-26-04), and several other substantial widths. Crucially, the company intersected gold mineralization in a syenite intrusion for the first time—1.31 g/t Au over 8.5 m and 1.13 g/t Au over 7.5 m—suggesting a geological model analogous to the large Young-Davidson deposit. Management plans an additional ~6,700 m of drilling in summer/fall 2026 to test open-pit potential and further explore the syenite contact.
This drill release materially advances the Moray story. The high-grade and broad intersections in the mafic volcanics confirm and extend the Zavitz zone’s continuity well beyond the 2025 maiden discovery (which originally showed 1.04 g/t over 86.7 m and 3.17 g/t over 43.0 m). The real incremental value is the first-ever gold in the syenite. Although the syenite grades are lower, their presence opens a much larger host rock volume and draws a direct parallel to Young-Davidson, where the bulk of the resource resides in the syenite intrusive. This is new information not priced in by the market, which had already rallied from $0.06 to as high as $0.41 on earlier Zavitz zone results but pulled back to $0.32 ahead of this news. The company also demonstrated its ability to intersect high-grade pockets (46.50 g/t) alongside broad runs, a combination that enhances the economic prospect. The grant, Frankfurt listing, and earlier land consolidation are supportive but secondary; this drill result is the key catalyst that reinvigorates the exploration thesis.
New Break Resources Ltd. is a Canadian junior explorer listed on the CSE (NBRK) and Frankfurt (O91). Its 100%‑owned Moray gold project lies approximately 49 km southeast of Timmins, Ontario, in the Abitibi greenstone belt. The project consists of over 22,000 ha assembled through staking and acquisitions, all royalty‑free. The focus is the Zavitz gold zone, a grassroots discovery made in 2025 where broad, consistent gold intercepts were drilled in mafic volcanics. The company now believes the system is analogous to the Young‑Davidson mine, where gold extends from mafic volcanics into a felsic syenite intrusive, unlocking much larger tonnage. Moray is at an early stage with no resource estimate yet.
