Tiernan Continues to Advance Volcan Pre-Feasibility Study and Initiates Environmental Baseline Program
Tiernan’s Volcan PFS advances as metallurgical testwork confirms HPGR recovery gains for the project.

Tiernan Gold Corp. issued a comprehensive operational update regarding its Volcan Gold Project in Chile, confirming continued advancement in its Pre-Feasibility Study (PFS) and environmental baseline programs. A 2026 re-logging initiative covering approximately 15,000 meters of historical core clarified that gold mineralization is primarily controlled by silica veining, alteration, and structural controls.
Metallurgical testwork conducted at SGS Canada indicates that High Pressure Grinding Rolls (HPGR) facilitate rapid gold dissolution and improved recovery rates compared to conventional crushing methods. The company reported holding US$36.2 million in cash as of June 30, 2026, and has secured water rights for continental groundwater. Environmental baseline field work and the submission of an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) are targeted for the second half of 2027.
Management changes include the appointments of James Connolly as Executive Vice President of Projects, Mario Marchese as Country Manager for Chile, and Pascal Lambert-Paradis as Chief Financial Officer. Consultants Ausenco, Deswik, and GAC continue their respective workstreams for the lead PFS, mine design, and environmental assessments.
Tiernan Gold Corp. (TNGD) released a routine operational update that aligns with previously announced milestones. The company confirmed that the publication target for the Preliminary Feasibility Study (PFS) remains in the first half of 2027, with metallurgical testwork progressing as planned.
The update included the confirmation of High-Pressure Grinding Roll (HPGR) benefits and structural controls. This development is consistent with the phased metallurgical program announced in early 2026.
No new financial data, resource updates, or major financing announcements were included in the release. The company’s cash position remains unchanged from prior disclosures. The update reinforces Tiernan Gold’s execution track record and is consistent with the "engineering-led, execution-focused" strategy outlined in February 2026, without introducing unexpected market-moving catalysts.
Tiernan Gold Corp. is a pre-revenue exploration and development company focused on the 100%-owned Volcan Gold Project in Chile's Maricunga Gold Belt. The project hosts a 9.8 million ounce Measured and Indicated gold resource, with an additional 1.2 million ounces in Inferred resources.
A July 2025 Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA) outlined a large-scale heap-leach operation producing approximately 330,000 ounces of gold per year over the first 10 years. The assessment reported an All-In Sustaining Cost (AISC) under $1,100/oz, an NPV5% of $1.5 billion, and an IRR of 29% at $2,400/oz gold.
The company is currently advancing engineering, geological modeling, metallurgical testing, and environmental baseline studies to support the PFS and EIA submission.
