Lavras Gold Defines a District-Scale Gold-in-Soil Corridor at Lavras do Sul and Identifies Cerrito North as a New Exploration Target
Lavras identifies a district-scale geochemical corridor and defines the Cerrito North target ahead of its December 2026 permit submission.

Lavras Gold Corp. released an independent geochemical interpretation of its Lavras do Sul (LDS) Project in Brazil on October 13, 2026. The study defines a continuous approximately 10 km gold-in-soil corridor linking the Fazenda-Butia, Caneleira, and Cerrito North areas. Researchers identified two distinct mineralized geochemical associations: one linked to granodiorite featuring Au-Cu-Bi-Ag, and another associated with potassium-rich granite containing Au-Pb-Zn-As.
Cerrito North is highlighted as a new exploration target on the northern continuation of the Caneleira trend. It currently consists of soil data comprising 186 aqua regia/ICP and 1,026 fire assay/AAS samples that require recalibration. No assay results or mineral resource estimates exist for this target yet. Overlap zones between geochemical halos are identified as primary targeting criteria, carrying Au-Ag-Bi-W-Cu with As-Sb-Mo.
The company confirms ongoing approximately 25,000m of diamond drilling at the Caneleira Target and plans infill soil programs for priority overlap corridors. Existing resources remain unchanged:
- Fazenda-Butia: 12.9Mt @ 0.91 g/t Au and 3.7Mt @ 0.97 g/t Au (Inferred)
- Cerrito: 8.3Mt @ 0.70 g/t Au (Indicated) and 13.2Mt @ 0.69 g/t Au (Inferred)
Lavras Gold Corp. (LGC) released an expected exploration update on October 13, following its September 14 announcements regarding the completion of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and the approval of a 25,000-meter drilling program at Caneleira. The update provides a geological framework to prioritize the ongoing drilling campaign but does not introduce new assay results, resource estimates, or permitting breakthroughs.
The identification of Cerrito North is described as incremental; it is a soil geochemical target with no current metallurgical or economic validation. The news aligns with management's stated strategy of leveraging district-scale potential to feed the future Fazenda-Butia processing facility. Given the lack of new financial data, resource updates, or capital raises, the market impact is expected to be limited.
Lavras Gold Corp. is a pre-revenue gold exploration and development company focused on the Lavras do Sul (LDS) Project in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. The project covers approximately 21,489 hectares and is structured to comply with Brazilian Border Law, with 100% economic benefit controlled by Lavras Gold.
The company’s flagship asset is the Fazenda-Butia deposit, which hosts 12.9 million tonnes at 0.91 grams per tonne of gold, equating to 377,000 ounces in Measured and Indicated categories. Lavras Gold is transitioning from advanced exploration to development, with engineering studies conducted by Ausenco and GE21, as well as environmental permitting activities underway. An Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) has been completed, with a License of Previou (LP) application due in December 2026.
The geological model has evolved from individual deposits to a district-scale alkaline intrusive system featuring multiple high-grade vein and bulk-tonnage targets.
