Omai Gold Mobilizes Sixth Drill to Advance Exploration Targets
Omai mobilizes its sixth drill for the BBH target following the filing of a $4 billion NPV pre-feasibility study.

Omai Gold Mines Corp. announced the mobilization of a sixth diamond drill to its Omai Project in Guyana. The new rig will initiate a 5,000-meter exploration program focused on the BBH target area, located west of the Gilt Deposit.
The announcement provides historical trenching and drilling highlights for BBH, including high-grade surface occurrences up to 24.3 g/t Au and previous drill intersections, which justify the new infill and expansion program. This exploration update follows the completion of a Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA) on August 19, 2026, and the filing of the supporting NI 43-101 technical report on October 2, 2026.
Current operations continue with five diamond drills focused on infill and expansion drilling at the Wenot deposit.
The market had already priced in the transformative PEA, released on August 19, and the technical report filed on October 2, which outlined a $4.0 billion net present value (NPV) at $3,600/oz and an 18-year mine life.
Mobilizing a sixth drill for a targeted 5,000-meter program represents standard operational progression for a development-stage asset advancing toward a feasibility study. The announcement does not contain genuinely new, unexpected, or market-moving information relative to the August PEA. While the news reinforces management's execution pace, it does not alter the fundamental economics or risk profile established by the PEA.
Omai Gold Mines Corp. (OMG) is a 100%-owned exploration and development company focused on the Omai Gold Project in the Potaro Mining District of Guyana. The project is a past producer that generated 3.8 million ounces of gold between 1993 and 2005. Its flagship deposits are the Wenot open-pit deposit and the adjacent Gilt underground deposit.
The August 2026 Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA) outlines an 18-year mine life producing 6.3 million ounces of gold, averaging 351,000 ounces annually. Economic metrics from the PEA include a $4.0 billion after-tax NPV5% at a $3,600/oz base case, a 24% after-tax IRR, a 4.1-year payback period, and an All-In Sustaining Cost (AISC) of $1,608/oz.
The project benefits from existing infrastructure, including a cleared site, on-site airstrip, tailings facility, known metallurgy (93-95% CIL recovery), and road connections to Georgetown and Linden.
