Allied Gold Reports Resource Growth and Mine Life Extension Potential from Exploration Program as the Kurmuk Mine Completes Commissioning and Begins Operations
Allied reports strong Kurmuk widths extending known zones, though a C$3.9B producer will not re-rate on one hole.

Allied Gold Corporation (AAUC) released an exploration update for its Kurmuk project in Ethiopia on October 6, 2026, as the facility completes commissioning and begins processing first ore. The company stated the purpose of the exploration is to extend the mine life past 15 years and identify higher-grade feed to sustain production of approximately 300 koz/yr.
At the Ashashire deposit, hole ASDD227 intersected three stacked intercepts from the central core: 13.86 m @ 10.07 g/t Au (379.00–392.86 m), 13.77 m @ 9.15 g/t Au (395.00–408.77 m), and 9.22 m @ 8.48 g/t Au (323.07–332.29 m). The deposit remains open down-dip below 425 m, with higher grades traced approximately 750 m along strike. Supporting holes included: - ASDD248: 15.20 m @ 4.58 g/t Au - ASDD228: 12.54 m @ 4.40 g/t Au - ASDD231: 5.08 m @ 9.78 g/t Au and 23.75 m @ 1.82 g/t Au - ASDD245: 7.03 m @ 5.74 g/t Au and 12.05 m @ 2.83 g/t Au - ASDD244: 9.74 m @ 4.04 g/t Au - ASDD236: 4.53 m @ 8.48 g/t Au - ASDD232: 2.91 m @ 12.28 g/t Au - ASDD235: 9.02 m @ 3.89 g/t Au
At Dish Mountain, hole DMDD788 identified extensions to known lenses, including 14.4 m @ 3.4 g/t Au (265.8–280.3 m), 16.1 m @ 2.9 g/t Au (195.6–211.7 m), and 18.8 m @ 1.5 g/t Au. Other holes at the site included: - DMDD779: 8.03 m @ 5.4 g/t Au - DMDD778: 10.8 m @ 3.1 g/t Au - DMDD780: 6.23 m @ 4.5 g/t Au - DMDD777: 9.69 m @ 2.5 g/t Au
The deposit remains open laterally and down-dip beyond approximately 300 m.
Along the 9 km long Tsenge Trend, results included: - Kiftet (TSDD052): 80.09 m @ 1.53 g/t Au, plus 27.60 m @ 1.32 g/t Au and 6.72 m @ 6.75 g/t Au - Setota (TSDD066): 40.50 m @ 1.17 g/t Au, 10.27 m @ 3.78 g/t Au, and 1.28 m @ 69.77 g/t Au - Bumblebee (TSRC006): 9.0 m @ 4.23 g/t Au - Hiccup Hill (TSDD050): 6.8 m @ 7.46 g/t Au - TSDD047: 8.12 m @ 4.21 g/t Au
Regional exploration results included 3.0 m @ 18.52 g/t Au and 5 m @ 3.96 g/t Au at Urchin, and the best result at Western Prospects was 25.0 m @ 1.97 g/t Au (estimated true width 5 m). The Agu and Ahushu prospects remain untested, and Dul Mountain has only been tested by historic drilling at depth.
The company used a 0.3 g/t Au cut-off, with drilled lengths and estimated true widths ranging from 60% to 95% of the drilled length. Since October 2025, 149 holes totaling 28,003 m have been drilled. An initial Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) for Kiftet and Hiccup Hill is expected in the first half of 2027, with an updated Ashashire resource anticipated in 2027.
Current Probable and Proved (P&P) reserves at Kurmuk stand at 2.70 moz @ 1.32 g/t, with Measured and Indicated (M&I) resources at 3.36 moz @ 1.44 g/t. The company’s five-year target is greater than 5 moz.
Allied Gold Corporation (AAUC) is a mid-tier African gold producer operating three mines: Sadiola, Bonikro, and Agbaou. The company holds approximately 11.3 moz of P&P reserves and has issued 2026 guidance of 485–575 koz of gold. Its equity value stands at approximately C$3.9B, based on prior-period context from Q2-2026 filings and the reserve tables in this release. At this stage, drill results rarely move the equity unless they materially change reserves or mine life. Today’s release does not change reserves; resource updates are scheduled for 2027.
The best prior Kurmuk intercepts on these same targets were from the November 2025 update. These included Hiccup Hill TSDD041, which returned 16.4 m @ 13.0 g/t (213 g·m), and Dish Mountain DMDD765, which returned 16.7 m @ 2.61 g/t (43.6 g·m). Today’s best result, ASDD227, stacks approximately 344 g·m across three intervals at approximately 9–10 g/t. This is comparable to or modestly better in aggregate than prior results, though slightly lower in grade per interval. The delta is in-line to better, confirming and extending previous findings rather than opening a new dimension.
The stock’s movement over the past year has been driven by corporate transactions rather than exploration. The shares rallied from approximately C$25 to C$43.65 into the Zijin C$44/share all-cash takeout in January 2026. The price then collapsed from approximately C$29.50 to C$24.00 on July 29, 2026, when the arrangement was terminated and replaced by a C$32.55/share, approximately US$295M strategic placement, with Zijin holding approximately 9.2%. At C$28.28, the shares are approximately 35% below the 52-week high and sit in the lower half of the post-deal range. The price is not discounting exploration repetition, and because none of today’s intercepts is materially better than what was previously demonstrated, the "unpriced positive" upside rule does not trigger. This is a confirmation release, not an underpriced discovery.
The release is consistent with the company’s strategy of greater than 5 moz reserves and greater than 15-year mine life. It represents one step of a multi-year programme at a large, already-producing company and should not move a C$3.9B equity by 15%.
Allied Gold Corporation (TSX/NYSE: AAUC) is a Canadian-based mid-tier gold producer in Africa with a market capitalization of approximately C$3.9B at C$28.28. The company operates producing assets at Sadiola and Korali-Sud in Mali, structured as an 80%/65%-class joint venture with government interests, as well as Bonikro and Agbaou in Côte d’Ivoire, with 89.9% and 25% ownership respectively. The portfolio holds reserves of 11.3 moz @ 1.40 g/t on a 100% basis.
In development and ramp-up, the Kurmuk project in Ethiopia is 93% owned by Allied, with the government entitled to 7% once in commercial production. The project contains 2.70 moz P&P @ 1.32 g/t and is currently in commissioning, targeting ~240–300 koz/yr at low AISC with a >15-year target life. Exploration efforts include Kurmuk’s 1,450 km² land package, which features a 30 x 50 km camp, alongside portfolio-wide programmes. The 2026 exploration budget has been raised to ~$36M, supporting a >5 moz Kurmuk resource objective.
Financial context from Q2-2026 filings shows revenue of $760.4M and net earnings of $5.4M in H1-2026. Cash stood at $192.2M at June 30, 2026, with total debt of $165.1M and total equity of $626.6M. Adjusted EPS was $0.44 in Q2, with liquidity strengthened by the ~US$295M Zijin placement. As the current release is a drill result, no fresh earnings content is present; the above financial figures serve as prior-period backdrop only.
