Canterra Minerals Expands Lundberg Indicated Mineral Resource by 55% to 26.1 Mt at the Buchans Project in Newfoundland
Canterra’s Lundberg resource jumps 55% while its stock stagnates near multi-month lows.

Canterra Minerals Corporation (CTM) announced an updated Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) for the Lundberg Deposit at the Buchans Project, effective September 2, 2026. The Indicated category tonnage increased by 55% to 26.08 million tonnes (Mt), with contained copper equivalent (CuEq) rising 34% to 226.2 thousand tonnes (kt).
Resource growth is attributed to updated metal price assumptions and 4,779 meters of new drilling completed since 2024. The resource is constrained within an optimized open-pit shell with a 3.16:1 strip ratio. High-grade drilling at the Two Level Zone confirmed significant polymetallic intercepts, including:
- 4.45m @ 7.73% CuEq
- 1.65m @ 4.34% CuEq
Future exploration includes 6,000m of district drilling at Lemarchant and other targets, with gravity survey results expected in Q4 2026.
Canterra Minerals Corporation (CTM) has delivered on its stated Q4 2026 target with an updated Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE), confirming the success of its Phase 2 drill program. The update includes a 55% increase in indicated tonnage, a change that is operationally significant and improves the long-term economic profile of the Lundberg deposit.
Despite the milestone, the market has not reacted strongly, with the stock trading near its 52-week low. This lack of movement suggests the development was anticipated and priced in, or that investors are waiting for higher-conviction catalysts such as a maiden reserve estimate or a major discovery at Lemarchant. The news does not alter the company's immediate capital requirements or financing strategy, but it validates the exploration thesis and justifies continued capital deployment.
Canterra Minerals Corporation is an exploration-stage company focused on the Buchans District in central Newfoundland, Canada. Its flagship project is the Lundberg Deposit, a polymetallic VMS system hosting copper, zinc, lead, silver, and gold. The company controls a consolidated 106 km² land package encompassing seven known resource-stage deposits and a pipeline of satellite targets. The district has a historic production legacy of 16.2 Mt of ore, providing geological confidence in the area's potential. Current focus is on expanding the Lundberg resource, testing satellite deposits (Lemarchant, Boomerang, etc.), and advancing the Wilding Gold Project.
