Aris Mining Announces Major Developments at Soto Norte

Aris secured regulatory clearance for Soto Norte, shifting near-term focus to execution risks at the Marmato project.

Executive Summary

Aris Mining Corporation (ARIS) has completed the Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) for its 100%-owned Soto Norte project in Colombia and is moving forward with community engagement in preparation for an environmental license application. This progress follows the revocation of key regulatory constraints, specifically the La Baja Reserve, the Temporary Reserve Extension, and the 2026 Santurbán Páramo Partial Delimitation, which aligns the regulatory timeline with the project’s expectations. Additionally, the National Mining Agency (ANM) approved a modification to the Programa de Trabajos y Obras (PTO) technical mine plan on July 29, 2026, covering geology, reserves, mine design, and production planning.

Mineral reserves, effective August 18, 2025, stand at 20.3 million tonnes at 7.00 grams per tonne of gold, containing 4.6 million ounces of gold, supporting a 22-year mine life based on proven and probable reserves. Project economics indicate an average annual production of approximately 203,000 ounces of gold over Years 1-21, ramping to approximately 263,000 ounces of gold annually during Years 2-10. The project carries a life-of-mine net present value at a 5% discount rate of $2.7 billion, based on a gold price of $2,600 per ounce. The processing plant is designed to produce concentrates without the use of cyanide or mercury and includes dedicated mill capacity for local miners.

Material Impact

Aris Mining Corporation (ARIS) has completed the environmental and social impact assessment (ESIA) and secured regulatory clearance for its Soto Norte project, marking a significant sequential step toward obtaining the final environmental license. This development removes a known permitting overhang and aligns with prior expectations outlined in the company’s July 29, 2026 earnings release, which noted the process was "nearing completion."

The market has already priced in this progress, with the stock advancing approximately 29% from the Q2 earnings close of $19.57 to the current price of $25.22. While the milestone validates the project's development path, it does not alter near-term cash flow or production profiles until the license is formally granted and construction begins.
