Battery Mineral Resources Announces Cinabrio Norte Exploitation Permit and TD4 Authorization
Cinabrio Norte permits clear the path for Battery’s Punitaqui expansion despite dilution and execution risks.

Battery Mineral Resources Corp. (BMR) has received an exploitation permit from SERNAGEOMIN for the Cinabrio Norte deposit, a key component of its 100%-owned Punitaqui Copper Project in Chile. The permit allows the company to advance engineering, mine planning, and development activities for the deposit, which is located approximately 110 metres north of existing Cinabrio underground workings.
SERNAGEOMIN also authorized the temporary operation of Tailings Dam No. 4 (TD4) for approximately nine months following reinforcement works, bridging the gap until a new tailings filtration plant is constructed. Cinabrio Norte is strategically positioned as a future feed source for the Los Mantos concentrate plant. The release contains no new production volumes, financial results, or cost guidance.
Regulatory approvals represent necessary, expected milestones that validate management's stated strategy to expand feed sources and manage tailings infrastructure. The news does not alter production guidance, cost structure, or capital requirements. While it removes a regulatory hurdle, it does not immediately translate to cash flow or production beats. The stock has traded in a defined $0.12-$0.20 channel since late 2025, indicating the market has already priced in this incremental progress.
Battery Mineral Resources Corp. (BMR) operates a dual-segment business comprising the Punitaqui copper mining complex in Chile and ESI Energy Services (Ozzies) in the US. The Punitaqui complex includes the Cinabrio, San Andres, Cinabrio Norte, and Dalmacia underground operations, with processing taking place at the Los Mantos plant.
In Ontario, the company’s portfolio includes the McAra cobalt-silver project. The Gowganda project was sold to Nord Precious Metals in March 2026 for approximately $6 million in cash, equity, and royalty. ESI manufactures and rents specialized construction equipment, targeting the renewable energy and data center markets.
