ORVANA ANNOUNCES NEW STRATEGIC THREE-TIERED EXPLORATION PROGRAM FOR ITS TAGUAS PROJECT IN ARGENTINA
Orvana advances Taguas exploration in Bolivia while delaying ramp-up plans, prompting the withdrawal of its fiscal 2026 guidance.

Orvana Minerals Corp. (ORV) has announced a FY2027 strategic three-tiered exploration program for its Taguas Project in Argentina, with a preliminary budget set at approximately US$15 million. The drilling scope targets approximately 19,500 metres in total, comprising roughly 10,000 metres for oxide resource infill at Cerros Taguas to upgrade Inferred resources to Measured and Indicated categories, and approximately 9,500 metres for deep exploration targeting a porphyry copper-gold system.
The program includes the integration of historical data from the recently acquired Evelina property, structural mapping, and the expansion of Magnetotelluric (MT) and Induced Polarization (IP) geophysical surveys to depths exceeding 1.5 kilometres. Management will present the program at the Precious Metals Summit on September 23, 2026, and at Mining Forum Americas on September 28, 2026.
Risk factors highlighted by the company include permitting, contracting, service availability, market conditions, and funding availability.
Orvana Minerals Corp. (ORV) released an exploration update regarding its Taguas project, marking a routine progression following the completion of its initial deep drilling campaign in early 2026. The company noted that this incremental update does not alter near-term production, cash flow, or valuation.
The primary focus for the company remains the Sept. 17, 2026, withdrawal of EMIPA's FY2026 production guidance. This decision was driven by slower-than-anticipated ramp-up and operational delays, directly contradicting prior management promises of stable commercial production by September 2026.
Market reaction to these developments saw the stock trading near $2.61, down from a Sept. 2 high of $2.79. This price action reflects the tension between positive metallurgical milestones, such as the production of first copper cathodes, and the reality of delayed production and associated covenant risks.
Orvana Minerals Corp. operates three 100%-controlled assets across three jurisdictions. In Spain, the company runs the Orovalle project, a producing underground gold-silver-copper mine comprising the El Valle Boinás and Carlés operations. In Bolivia, the EMIPA / Don Mario site is processing oxide stockpiles and legacy material, currently in a ramp-up phase with new copper cathode and gold-silver circuits. Additionally, the company holds the Taguas project in Argentina, an advanced exploration initiative targeting high-sulfidation epithermal and deep porphyry copper-gold systems.
