Iconic Minerals Reports Further Positive Near Surface Gold and Silver Results in Second Batch of Assays from 2026 Drilling Program at New Pass Gold Property, Nevada
Iconic’s New Pass drill assays confirm near-surface gold-silver mineralisation, though cash burn and dilution concerns persist.

Iconic Minerals Ltd. (ICM) released the second batch of assay results from its 2026 drilling program at the New Pass gold property in Nevada. Six additional drill holes returned continuous near-surface mineralization, averaging approximately 0.35 g/t Au and 0.01 oz/t Au. Five of the six holes showed continuous intervals from surface to 55 meters, confirming the initial exploration targets.
Hole NP2601 intercepted antimony exceeding the analytical upper detection limit of 1% Sb, accompanied by gold and silver values, marking antimony as a potential critical mineral for future testing. The final batch of samples from the 15-hole program has been submitted to ALS for analysis. Initial metallurgical testing is planned to confirm leachability and examine recoverable critical elements. CEO Richard Kern stated the results confirm the near-surface gold and silver mineralization potential initially targeted.
Iconic Minerals Ltd. (ICM) released a follow-up to its August 13, 2026 announcement, providing incremental confirmation of exploration progress without introducing fundamentally new data that alters the project's economics or resource potential. Assay grades remain consistent with the historical inferred resource of 0.018 oz/t Au and the first batch of assays. While the antimony intercept serves as a minor exploration highlight, it lacks the metallurgical context required for immediate commercial viability.
The stock has declined significantly from $0.27 in late December 2025 to $0.07 currently. The market has already priced in the exploration phase, and this release lacks the scale, grade, or strategic catalyst—such as a new resource estimate or major financing—required to be considered material.
Financially, the company reported a net loss of $1.66M for the nine months ended May 31, 2026, with cash on hand of approximately $1.92M. Management explicitly states that cash is insufficient to fund exploration and corporate overhead for the next twelve months. This drill result does not alleviate the immediate capital need or change the going concern status.
Iconic Minerals Ltd. (ICM) is a pre-revenue junior explorer focused on gold and lithium properties in Nevada and Canada. Its flagship asset is the New Pass Gold Property, located on the Carlin-type gold trend in Nevada, covering 2,140 hectares. The deposit is 75% oxidized, historically showing heap leach recoveries of 75-77%. Historical inferred resources for the site stand at approximately 15.5 million short tons at 0.022 oz/t AuEq, containing roughly 341,750 AuEq ounces.
The company is advancing the New Pass project under a 50/50 joint venture with McEwen Mining Inc. While other assets include the Midas South property and lithium projects at Smith Creek and Grass Valley, New Pass remains the primary focus.
