VANCOUVER, BC, Sept. 14, 2026 /CNW/ -- Edge Copper Corporation (TSX: EDCU) ("Edge Copper" or the "Company") is pleased to report assay results from eight additional diamond drill holes completed as part of its ongoing approximately 54,000-foot drilling program at the Company's 100%-owned Zonia Copper Project ("Zonia" or the "Project") in Arizona. These results bring the total number of holes reported from the current program to 45.
The principal result is from hole ZND0030, drilled in the central part of the deposit beneath several shallow historical holes. It returned 140 ft grading 0.45% total copper (CuT) from 0 ft, including 80 ft grading 0.63% CuT from 20 ft. A separate interval returned 340 ft grading 0.30% CuT from 400 ft, including 165 ft grading 0.40% CuT from 410 ft. Figure 2 shows the ZND0030 cross section.
ZND0030 adds two broad copper intervals in an area previously tested mainly by shallow historical holes. The deeper mineralized zone in this hole demonstrates that oxide copper mineralization extends over approximately 550 ft of vertical extent in the central area of the deposit (see Figure 2).
Drill Hole Highlights
ZND0030 returned 140 ft grading 0.45% CuT from 0 ft, including 80 ft grading 0.63% CuT from 20 ft, plus an additional interval of 340 ft grading 0.30% CuT from 400 ft, including 165 ft grading 0.40% CuT from 410 ft.
ZND0060 returned 248 ft grading 0.30% CuT from 553 ft, including 156 ft grading 0.37% CuT from 598 ft. The reported oxide and mixed mineralization is on the northwestern margin of the deposit, beyond the current PEA design pit (Figure 3 shows the ZND0060 cross section).
ZND0034 returned 465 ft grading 0.26% CuT from 0 ft in the northern part of the deposit, including 160 ft at 0.33% CuT from 105 ft.
ZND0039 returned 623 ft grading 0.23% CuT from 2 ft, including 125 ft grading 0.34% CuT from 195 ft in the northern part of the deposit.
ZND0041 returned 540 ft grading 0.22% CuT from 0 ft, including 70 ft grading 0.36% CuT from 105 ft, in the northern part of the deposit.
Together, the eight holes reported add broad intervals of copper mineralization in the central and northern deposit areas and at the northwestern margin, reinforcing the continuity and scale of the Zonia copper system from near surface to depth. The results include both higher-grade zones and broad intervals of resource-grade mineralization and will inform updates to the Company's geological and Mineral Resource models. Program Outlook
Edge Copper is incorporating the new assays, logging and core-scanning data into its geological and Mineral Resource models for Zonia. Current work includes:
integrating oriented core, geological logs and high-resolution core scans from the reported holes;
evaluating the continuity and geometry of mineralization in the central deposit, including the intervals in ZND0030;
refining the interpreted oxide, mixed and sulfide boundaries using sequential copper analyses and core-scanning data;
continuing drilling to test the mineralized system along strike and down-dip;
advancing metallurgical test work on representative mineralized material; and
progressing technical work for an updated Zonia Oxide Mineral Resource estimate targeted for Q4 2026.
The Company expects to continue reporting drill results as assays, QA/QC review and geological interpretation are completed.
QA/QC
All drill samples were collected under the supervision of the Company's geological staff in accordance with industry-standard quality assurance and quality control ("QA/QC") procedures.
Samples are from HQ-diameter core. Core is scanned and logged by the Company's geology team before being cut. Half-core HQ samples are prepared for assay, and the remaining material is retained at site for future reference.
The Company's QA/QC program includes the insertion of certified reference materials, blanks and duplicate samples at regular intervals within the sample stream. The Company also conducts ongoing reviews of laboratory QA/QC performance to ensure analytical reliability and accuracy.
Assay samples were picked up directly from site by Skyline Assayers and Laboratories ("Skyline") and transported to Skyline's laboratory facility in Tucson, Arizona for preparation and analysis. Skyline is accredited and independent of the Company.
Sample preparation included drying, crushing, splitting and pulverizing prior to analysis. Copper assays were determined using Skyline's single-element assay method, consisting of three-acid digestion followed by atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS) determination for total copper.
Significant intervals reported in this news release were calculated using a 0.10% CuT cut-off. All drill core is oriented where possible. Drill holes in the current program were drilled at inclinations of approximately -45 to -58 degrees and generally oriented towards the southeast, broadly orthogonal to the interpreted strike and dip of the mineralized system, associated foliation and the major bounding fault structures. Based on the current geological interpretation and drill geometry, intervals reported in this news release are interpreted to represent approximate true thicknesses.
