Communities Finalise Life Plans Alongside Renewed Shuar Agreements as Warintza Continues to Advance De-Risking Activities
Solaris targets a final $50 million tranche in Q4 as Ecuador communities back the Warintza project.

Solaris Resources Inc. (SLS) released an update on the operational and social license status of its flagship Warintza copper project in Ecuador. Local communities, specifically Warints and Yawi, have finalized Community Life Plans that formally recognize mining as a development resource and outline long-term priorities. Additionally, the company signed renewed cooperation agreements with Indigenous organizations FISCH and PSHA to support the government-led Free, Prior, and Informed Consultation (FPIC) process.
On the regulatory front, the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) received technical approval earlier in 2026. Parallel regulatory processes, including water permits, mining concessions, and infrastructure clearances, are currently advancing. Technical drilling is ongoing and is expected to conclude by Q4 2026, coinciding with geotechnical and hydrogeological field investigations for mine infrastructure design.
Financially, the balance sheet holds US$54 million in cash. The final US$50 million tranche from Royal Gold is expected in Q4 2026 upon completion of security filings.
Solaris Resources Inc. (SLS) confirmed the successful execution of its social license strategy, as outlined in the November 2025 Pre-Feasibility Study (PFS) and the April 2026 Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) approval. Community Life Plans and renewed Shuar agreements directly address critical Free, Prior, and Informed Consent (FPIC) requirements, materially de-risking the permitting pathway and validating the company's stakeholder engagement model.
The update aligns precisely with management's stated timeline for full permitting by the end of 2026. It does not introduce new financial metrics, unexpected operational shifts, or changes to the capital structure. The confirmation of the $50 million Royal Gold tranche timeline reinforces liquidity, a factor already priced in following the April 2026 EIA milestone.
Solaris Resources Inc. (SLS) is a copper-focused exploration and development company headquartered in Switzerland. Its flagship asset is the Warintza Project, a large-scale, open-pit copper-gold-molybdenum operation located in southeastern Ecuador. The company holds a 100% interest in Warintza and has expanded its district footprint through a 40,000-hectare option agreement with Ecuador’s state miner, ENAMI EP.
A preliminary feasibility study (PFS) for Warintza indicates a mine life of more than 22 years. The project is projected to achieve first-quartile all-in sustaining costs (AISC) of $0.85–$1.25 per pound of copper and a post-tax net present value (NPV) of $4.6 billion at a copper price of $4.50 per pound.
In addition to Warintza, Solaris Resources’ portfolio includes the La Verde project in Mexico, the Tamarugo project in Chile, and the Peru Cusco Project.
